Back to School Offer Gives Students $100 Apple Gift Card

July 9, 2014, Written By Natalie Rutledge

To prepare for the upcoming school year, Apple is offering $50 or $100 gift cards to students and teachers who make purchases at their stores. The gift cards can be used for future purchases at Apple stores, which guarantees business for the company in the coming months.

Students and teachers who buy a Mac computer will receive a $100 gift card, and those who purchase an iPad or iPhone receive a $50 gift card. This deal is available on top of any promotional sales price on an item.

Current ads for educational purchases at Apple stores allow buyers to get up to $200 off certain Mac models and up to $30 off iPads. There are no discounts on iPhones at this time, and the gift cards cannot be used for on-contract purchases.

Apple’s Back to School promotion started July 1 and lasts through September 9. Promotional pricing is available online and at all local Apple stores.

Even though this promotion does give students a chance to spend less money on the laptop they need, Apple’s prices overall are still higher than other laptop and tablet manufacturers. If you are getting ready to buy a new computer, tablet or phone for school, you may want to take some time to compare prices online before being lured in by the idea of an Apple gift card.
