Small to medium-sized businesses will soon have a new point-of-sale (POS) system to offer their shoppers.

Samsung and Total Merchant Services unveiled their Groovv POS Flex system, which features a Samsung Galaxy Tab E tablet and an EMV-compliant, NFC-enabled payment processing device. The system, which can be set up and deployed within minutes, is pre-programmed with a suite of software for integrated marketing, reporting and inventory management.

“Samsung is committed to delivering solutions with market-leading partners, like Total Merchant Services, that enable businesses of all sizes to meet the demands of a fast-changing, mobile-first retail space,” said Ted Brodheim, Vice President of Vertical Business at Samsung Electronics America. “The solution we’ve created with Groovv POS Flex gives our SMB customers an innovative, customized mobile and payment processing ready system that fits seamlessly into their business.”

Groovv POS Flex is flexible and mobile. The tablet and payment devices are detachable, so staff members can process customer orders while roaming or from a countertop. The system also connects wirelessly to other peripherals, including barcode scanners and kitchen and receipt printers. Retailers can customize the system to match their needs, so it can work for every business–from clothing retailers to restaurants.

“Our versatile Groovv POS Flex system is a great fit for a diverse segment of independent retailers and other SMBs,” said Joe Kaplan, CEO of Total Merchant Services. “Now merchants who may have put off upgrading to EMV-compliant and NFC-enabled payment equipment have a modern and very affordable – even free in many cases – solution to manage their operations, optimize sales and improve customer satisfaction.”

Other key features include:

  • Software that allows owners to monitor their financials and view their sales so they can identify trends.
  • It can accept chip cards, Samsung Pay and other NFC mobile payments.
  • An easy-to-use interface with touchscreen navigation.
