PayPal Now Accepted on in Germany

Apple has announced it will allow users to pay for transactions through PayPal, but only in Germany.

PayPal has been an accepted form of payment for iTunes and Mac App Stores for quite some time, but it has never been available on Now, German customers will be able to use this option on the website to cover all their equipment needs. They must follow standard PayPal payment protocol, which means being redirected from and logging into PayPal’s secure processor. Once they have done that, they can choose to submit their payment and go back to the Apple site.

While Apple has not made any hint about using this option in other countries, speculators assume it will only be a matter of time. PayPal has been making great strides with Apple, especially with the launch of the new PayPal Here for the iPad. This device is said to create some competition for the ever-popular Square card reader, as it allows customers to get paid through PayPal without actually using the site. A simple swipe of the card is all it takes.

We’ll keep an eye out for more payment opportunities beyond Germany’s borders, but it is nice to see that some progress is being made for If it works out well in Deutschland, we may be seeing this practice spread sooner than expected.
