Free Movie Tickets to Sign Up for Western Union Prepaid MasterCard

Prepaid cards have become an important product for banks and credit card issuers because of loose regulations and the wide variety of fees. The generous promotions and easy access to prepaid cards may sound like a good deal, but look carefully at all of the fees.

Western Union and MasterCard are offering a pair of movie tickets as an incentive to sign up for theWestern Union Moneywise Prepaid MasterCard or the Western Union Gold Prepaid MasterCard. The first 16,000 get the free tickets and the value is up to $12 per ticket. The card must be ordered by 10/31/11 and loaded by 11/30/11. Tickets expire by 11/30/11.

Cards can be loaded at Western Union agent locations or by employer payroll deductions.

Here are the fees:
Bank to card transfer fee: $1.00
ATM withdrawal fee: $1.95 (plus ATM operator fee)
Agent location cash load fee: $4.95
Inactivity fee: $2.50 (monthly charge beginning in month 13)
ATM balance inquiry: $.45
Re-issue card fee: $5.00
Paper statement fee: $3.00
Bank to card transfer fee: $1.00
