ExxonMobil and Citi announced today that their customers can now apply for an ExxonMobil Smart Card credit card using the ExxonMobile Speedpass+ app.

Shoppers can use the “Apply and Buy” feature of the app to apply for a card. Once a credit card has been added to the app, a driver can use their mobile phone to pay at participating Exxon and Mobil pumps. Drivers who apply for a new card by July 31 are eligible to save 20 cents on every gallon of fuel for the first two months they have their card. After that, cardholders will save 6 cents on every gallon purchased.

“Citi Retail Services, supported by Equifax, has helped us deliver this innovative mobile feature that allows consumers to quickly and seamlessly apply for a Smart Card, which will be automatically added as a payment option within the app once approved,” said Miguel Castillo, Americas payments marketing manager for ExxonMobil Fuels, Lubricants & Specialties Marketing Company.

The ExxonMobil Speedpass+ app can be downloaded through the Apple app store or via Google Play.
