First Data and BofA Launch Clover Mini POS for Small Businesses

Bank of America Merchant Services, in partnership with First Data Corporation, has launched the Clover Mini point of sale system for small businesses, complete with EMV card processing technology. This terminal is an expansion of the bank’s already successful line of Clover products, and is designed to give every business owner the flexible tools needed for day to day operations.

With the new Clover Mini, merchants are able to select apps to meet their specific business needs. The Clover App Market has an application for nearly every business management task, including employee management, inventory tracking and financial reports. The system is backed by a dual layer of security, known as the TransArmor Solution, which protects merchants and consumers alike against fraud.

Clover Mini is more compact than its predecessors, and comes with a built-in printer. It is capable of processing the latest NFC transactions–from Apple Pay to the upcoming Google Pay–as well as EMV credit cards (both chip-and-PIN and chip-and-signature cards). The seven-inch touch screen is lightweight, versatile and can be wireless, and the interface is designed to be more user friendly.

“The launch of Clover Mini is a response to our small business clients, who tell us they want streamlined capability and innovation.,” said Tim Tynan, CEO of Bank of America Merchant Services. “The built-in layers of security protection also give business owners peace of mind, so they can focus on what matters most, their customers and growing their business.”
