Credit Cards with Amazon Prime Included for Free

An Amazon Prime membership costs $119 a year. For that fee, members enjoy free shipping, access to Prime video and Prime music, as well as some additional perks. If you often shop on Amazon and enjoy streaming music and movies, a Prime membership is a nice extra to have.

Currently, there are no credit cards that include Amazon Prime for free. American Express offered three free months of Amazon Prime for targeted customers during the fourth quarter of 2018 but that offer appears to have expired.

if you have an Amazon Prime membership, you can apply for the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card or the Amazon.com Store card. The latter can only be used for purchases made at Amazon.com, but cardholders earn 5% back and can qualify for special financing. If you accumulate enough cash back and avoid interest charges by paying your balance in full each month, you will likely earn enough to cover the $119 Prime membership fee.

The Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature card can be used anywhere Visa is accepted. When you are approved for the card, you earn a $70 Amazon.com gift card, which is a major chunk of the annual Amazon Prime membership fee. Other perks of the card include 5% back on purchases made at Amazon.com or Whole Foods, 2% back at restaurants, gas stations and drugstores and 1% back on all other purchases. There is no annual fee, and there are no foreign transaction fees. Again, if you can avoid interest charges, the cash back rewards will likely cover your Prime membership.

While currently no credit cards currently offering Prime membership as a perk, there are other ways to enjoy a free membership. Each year, you can enjoy a free 30-day Prime membership. However, you have to remember to cancel the membership after 30 days, or you will be charged $12.99 per month for the service. College students can enjoy Amazon Prime for free for six months, and pay only $6.49 per month after the introductory period.

Another way to earn a free membership is by becoming an Amazon Associate. For each person that registers for a Prime free trial through your Amazon Associate account, you will earn $3. If you can convince 40 people to try Prime, you will have paid for your annual membership.
