New Chase Freedom App Redeems Rewards at Checkout
Recently, Chase introduced a mobile app specifically for the Chase Freedom card, which allows Chase Freedom cardholders the opportunity to redeem their cash back rewards and pay at the register at 30 top merchants.
With the new Chase Freedom Mobile App, cardholders can view, manage and redeem their Chase Ultimate rewards using their smartphone. Many of the leading retailers in the country are participating, including Toys R Us, Starbucks, Lowe’s, Gap, Target and TGI Fridays.
To make an in-store purchase, customers simply select the specific merchant and enter the amount of rewards to use. They can also pay using a custom e-gift card created directly on their device.
One of the more attractive benefits of the Chase Freedom card is the rewards program. Cardholders earn unlimited 1% cash back on all purchases, plus 5% cash back on categories that revolve each quarter up to $1,500 spent per quarter. But these special 5% cash back categories have to be activated by the cardholder each quarter or else they are not paid. This new app also allows the cardholder to activate the quarterly 5% cash back category.
“We’ve made it easy for cardholders to take those cash back rewards with them wherever they go,” Pam Codispoti, President, Chase Consumer Branded Cards, said in a statement. “With the Chase Freedom Mobile App, heading out to shop, dine or have fun just got a whole lot more rewarding.”
