Capital One and Uber Offering Free Rides

Capital One and Uber Offering Free Rides

March 2, 2016         Written By Bill Hardekopf

From Friday, March 4 through Sunday, March 6, Capital One customers who take uberPOOL will get four rides free.

uberPOOL is an Uber service that matches riders who are going in the same direction. The idea is that it will take riders a few extra minutes to reach their destinations, but they will save money by splitting the fare among other passengers. In fact, trips are estimated to be 50% less than UberX.

This weekend, to take advantage of the Capital One promotion, simply choose uberPOOL on the Uber app and select an eligible Capital One credit card as the payment method. From there, just enter promocode CAPITALONEPOOL in the promo section, and the free ride will be credited to your account.

uberPOOL is currently available in San Francisco, Oakland, Washington DC, New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, Austin, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta and Philadelphia.

Uber has been gaining in popularity since the app was released in June 2010. As of September 2015, Uber is available in 60 countries and 300 cities worldwide, according to Business of Apps. The company’s estimated worth is $50 billion.

In the United States alone, Uber has over 160,000 active drivers.
