Apple Pay and Android Pay Now Available at Chick-fil-A
Looking for a new way to pay for your chicken sandwiches at Chick-fil-A? As of August 19, customers can now use Apple Pay and Android Pay to complete their purchases at Chick-fil-A restaurants.
The announcement was made through the company’s Twitter account in response to a question someone sent to @ChickfilA. The response indicated both mobile wallets will be supported inside the restaurants and in the drive thru lane. In order to use Apple Pay or Android Pay in the drive thru, workers will hold a card reader out the window so customers can tap their phones and pay for their meals.
Chick-fil-A announced its support of Apple Pay in February, but the mobile wallet has not been available in the restaurants until now.
Samsung Pay users have had the ability to pay with their mobile wallets at Chick-fil-A locations thanks to magnetic secure transmission (MST) technology. This converts the signal from the phone into one that any standard card reader can process, even if it does not support near field communication (NFC).
