American Express Launches New Business Gold Rewards Credit Card

American Express has launched a new business credit card with a flexible rewards model. The American Express® Business Gold Card offers 4X points in the two categories in which a business spends the most money, on up to $150,000 in purchases each year.

The categories for quadruple points include:

  • Airline tickets purchased directly through the airline
  • Purchases at U.S. restaurants
  • Advertising and media purchases
  • Gas station purchases
  • Shipping purchases in the U.S.
  • Purchases made with select technology companies

Businesses can earn four points per dollar in two of those categories, plus one point per dollar everywhere else.

The card comes with a $295 annual fee and no foreign transaction fee. Cardholders also receive a free one-year subscription with G Suite Basic and ZipRecruiter.

The American Express® Business Gold Card features the Pay Over Time option, available on other American Express products. Purchases over $100 can qualify for a separate payment plan, like an installment program within the credit card. Cardholders can choose to pay off that large purchase at any time, or can make installments based on the terms of their agreement.

Last month, American Express revamped the Gold Card for consumers, offering 4X points at restaurants and supermarkets. That card comes with a $250 annual fee.
