Amazon Expands In-Car Delivery Service to Honda and Acura Vehicles
Key by Amazon In-Car Delivery is now available on select Honda and Acura vehicles. This includes Honda vehicles 2018 and newer with HondaLink Remote Services, as well as 2019 and 2020 Acura RDX with active AcuraLink service.
What Is Key by Amazon In-Car Delivery?
Key by Amazon is an in-car delivery service available to Prime members in approximately 50 cities in the United States. To use the service, customers must download the Key by Amazon app to their Android or Apple phone and enter their vehicle information. Then, they must link the app to their vehicle. They can then select In-Car Delivery during checkout.
In-car deliveries are available for same-day and two-day shipping, depending on the item and the location. Same-day deliveries will be dropped off between 5 PM and 9 PM. Two-day deliveries arrive between 11 AM and 3 PM.
On delivery day, Amazon will send a text confirming they have the correct location of your vehicle and what time the delivery will occur. The vehicle must be parked within two blocks of the confirmed location, and must be a space with public access. The Key app has a locator on it that verifies if the vehicle is in the right area. The service does not work in multistory garages, underground garages, or private gated lots.
When the delivery occurs, Amazon will send a notification that the vehicle is being unlocked, the package is being delivered, and the vehicle has been relocked.
