Amazon and American Express Launch New Rewards Card for Small Businesses

Today, Amazon and American Express introduced a new rewards card for small businesses. The Amazon Business American Express Card features no annual fee, as well as “an enhanced checkout experience on Amazon Business and Amazon.com.”

Cardholders with Prime accounts can earn 5% back for purchases at Amazon Business, Amazon.com, Amazon Web Services and Whole Food Markets, or can opt for 90-day payment terms. Non-Prime members can still earn 3% back, or may choose a 60-day payment term.

Additional card features include 2% back on dining and fuel purchases, along with wireless phone services paid directly to the service providers. All other purchases qualify for 1% back.

Another enhancement for business owners is the ability to view more detailed information about their purchases, such as the cost per item and quantity. This makes it easier to manage accounting and track company transactions.

Approved cardholders with a Prime membership will earn a $125 Amazon gift card after sign-up. Non-Prime members will earn a $100 gift card. Rewards earned on the card can be used to shop with Amazon Business and Amazon.com, or used toward a purchase on their statement.

There are no fees for employee cards, and business owners have access to the American Express® Business App and Connect to Quickbooks through American Express. Interested applicants may apply for a card online at Amazon.com.
