Alaska Airlines Enhances Benefits for Co-Branded Visa Signature Card
Alaska Airlines launched a series of new benefits for its Visa Signature Card, including the elimination of foreign transaction fees. Many credit card providers charge a 3% fee for transactions made in other countries, but those fees will no longer apply to the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Card.
In addition, the airline has increased its bonus offer to 30,000 miles for new cardholders after they make $1,000 worth of purchases during the first 90 days of being a cardholder. Users who are able to complete that task will also earn an annual companion ticket for $121.
The new Visa Signature Card has smartchip technology, conforming to the security standards found in the United States and Europe. There is no mileage cap, and the mileage earned can be used in Alaska Airlines network of 17 international and domestic airlines.
Cardholders can enjoy the benefits of free baggage check for up to six additional passengers while flying with Alaska Airlines or any of the network partners. Users earn three miles per $1 spent on airline tickets, cargo, inflight purchases, and vacation packages, as well as one mile per $1 spent elsewhere.
