Citibank unveiled a new agreement with Cardtronics that will give Citibank customers access to fee-free ATMs at 30,000 new locations in some major metropolitan cities across the United States.

At nearly all Target, Costco and CVS retail locations in these cities, Citibank customers will enjoy surcharge-free ATMs. Soon, Duane Reade stores and most Walgreens locations will also have these ATMs. From these ATMs, Citibank account holders will be able to withdraw cash, check their account balances and transfer funds.

“By nearly doubling our network of surcharge-free ATMs, we’re making it even easier for Citibank customers to meet their banking needs on the go,” said Will Howle, Head of U.S. Retail Banking at Citi. “From our enhanced product offerings and Citigold Client Centers and Smart Banking branches to expanding our ATM network and new digital capabilities, we are committed to delivering a higher level of value, convenience, service and expertise to our customers.”

The ATMs will be available in most of the following retail locations:

  • Target locations in New York and D.C.
  • Duane Reade stores in NYC
  • Costco locations in Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
  • CVS stores in Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco

This announcement is the latest in Citi’s efforts to offer a better customer experience. Recently, the company released a new mobile app, which gives users access to wealth management and money movement capabilities.
