AmEx Rewards Now Accepted at Chili’s Grill & Bar

American Express Rewards members now have one more way to spend their loyalty points. AmEx has announced that starting today, May 18, Membership Rewards points can be used for dine-in purchases at select Chili’s Grill & Bar locations nationwide.

The rewards program will be incorporated with the innovated Ziosk tablets at Chili’s. There are tablets on every table, giving diners a chance to play games, order menu items, and pay for their dinners. Ziosk first came to Chili’s in June of last year, six months ahead of schedule.

To use the loyalty points at Chili’s, simply swipe your American Express card on the Ziosk tablet as if you were making a payment. An option will appear on the screen to use your points, along with a place to select the number of points you want to apply to your order. Press the “use points button,” and your total will be adjusted accordingly.

According to the Ziosk’s research, patrons who use a Ziosk tablet are ten times more likely to enroll in a restaurant’s loyalty club, and 20 to 30 times more likely to participate in a guest satisfaction survey, giving restaurants even more insights into their customers’ experiences.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Chili’s as our latest point of sale redemption partner, giving Card Members the chance to dine out on rewards points at one of the nation’s biggest restaurant brands,” said Lisa Durocher, senior vice president of the Charge and Benefits sector for American Express.

“As the first casual dining restaurant brand to offer this opportunity, this is just another example of how we are continuing to leverage technology to enhance the guest experience within our restaurants,” commented Wyman Roberts, president of Chili’s Grill & Bar.

The rewards program will first launch in company-owned Chili’s locations, with franchised locations joining throughout the year.
