The American Express® Preferred Rewards Gold Card is an ideal card for those who can afford to pay in full each month to avoid accumulating credit card debt, as often can be the case with revolving balances and high interest rates. Cardholders have access to the Membership Rewards program for no additional fee. Through the rewards program, cardholders earn one point per dollar spent on all purchases. Plus, cardholders will receive 10,000 bonus points after spending $500 in three months, which is redeemable for a $100 gift card at participating merchants and retailers. Points can be redeemed for travel rewards on over 21 airlines and for many other rewards. There is no limit to the amount of points that can be earned, and points never expire. The annual fee of $125 is waived the first year.
